Tous les morceaux de Réminiscences sont des improvisations structurées. Ils peuvent être joués par deux claviéristes accompagnés d'un séquenceur ou d'un looper. Ici, j'ai d'abord improvisé une partie attribuée au premier clavier, puis une seconde et, parfois une troisième. Pour chaque partie, il peut y avoir eu plusieurs prises, et la meilleure a été conservée. Il ne s'agit donc pas d'un enregistrement brut, mais chaque partie est bien improvisée en adéquation avec les autres. Rien n'est écrit ou retravaillé.
Enfin, il s'agit d'improvisations structurées, ce qui signifie, par exemple, qu'un plan, un choix de sonorités, un climat à développer sont fixés préalablement à l'improvisation proprement dite. Ainsi, les pièces, bien que librement jouées sur l'instant, peuvent sembler structurées.

All pieces of Réminiscences are structured improvisations. They can be played by two keyboardists accompanied by a sequencer or a looper. Here, I first improvised a part assigned to the first keyboard, then a second and sometimes a third. For each part, there may have been several takes, and the best one has been kept. It is therefore not a raw recording, but each part is well improvised in line with the others. Nothing is written or reworked.
Finally, it is about structured improvisations, which means, for example, that a plan, a choice of sounds, a climate to be developed are fixed prior to the actual improvisation. Thus, the pieces, although freely played in the moment, can seem structured.
